I would love for the short to have detail like this, and I think we could do it yes. But are we going to shell out for renderfarm time?

I've seen that pic some weeks before, when it got the award. It's indeed a really nice pictures. The set has a lot of possibilities for a good fight. The rain looks slightly photoshopped though. Not certain if that can be used for a 3D animation. (although: plane with rain-texture in front of the scene and you're done)

Might be good to put an animated rain texture also into the fogging image, so the further bck, the more rain you're seeing through. The main strength of this picture is the buildings rather than the rain.

personally no, not over a 2-3 month time for a 3min short, It might be possible if we aimed small to begin with. By this I mean that one person (daniel your buildings generally look better thzn me) make the general shape of the building and cut out all the windows. Some body else makes all the windows, some one else the stairways. 3 others help with the texturing, specular maps and other mapping for the road. Possibility of post production for rain.
The only problem about going to this kind of igh detail is that our robot designs will aldoneed to be high design as well.
